A P P E A R A N C E

His appearance screams NOT JAPANESE, everything about his appearance is just against Japanese stereotypes, but he is purely Japanese. Reaching 177 cm (about 5’8”), he has a lean build (being the Clamp noodle he is) which might surprise people that he is a soldier. However, if he takes off his shirt, you’ll be able to see that he has nice muscles (not ripped and Hulk-like though). His eyes are on the big side, when not narrowed into a glare or apathetic look, and is in a forest green color. His hair is brown, and naturally curly that is kept short, with the tips reaching the nape of his neck. When his face isn’t in soldier-mode or angry, he looks younger than his real age.

Suzaku’s expression range is very wide, however he only shows bits and pieces of different expressions varying on where he is. When at work, his face is usually a serious look, occasionally angry, but mostly apathetic and almost (keyword almost) monotone. Of course, when fighting his expressions does branch out to a pissed look or surprised look. When with friends, his expressions are more soft, and is usually smiling. However, there is a certain amount of tension around him even when smiling, and his true smiles from the bottom of the heart are rarely seen.

His closet is very..small. He’s usually found wearing his soldier uniform or his school uniform. However, his few off-hours outfits are loose and easy to move in, usually earth colored. (Although white looks good on him)

A B I L I T I E S

Suzaku’s main (or only?) ability is his fighting skills. His stamina is just about endless (we hardly see him out of breath in the series) and his instincts are very keen. He’s skilled in martial arts, and piloting. His piloting skills were top in simulations, and his first ride with Lancelot ended with 94% synchronization. His athletic ability is almost inhumane, being able to run past an old, but working Knightmare Frame. He runs on walls, dodges machine guns, and performs mid-air spin kicks. (Earning him the name of Spinzaku) On the battlefield, he was feared and somehow from the ‘White Knight’, it changed to ‘Britannia’s White Grim Reaper’. Just he alone could overturn the whole battle. His athletic ability had been shown from since he was a child, in which his teacher, Toudou, had seen that Suzaku was a genius in kendo and just about any martial arts. He had been able to take down about 3 grown men with just a wooden sword, running so fast that Lelouch didn’t notice he had moved until one of the men fell down.

Suzaku doesn’t fight by tactics, but by instinct and reflex. His way of battle often confuses Lelouch, and doesn’t understand how strength can overpower tactics. But now, being in the higher ranks of the military, he sometimes have to command soldier. That, he is still learning. Suzaku might be thought as a dumb child, and yes he sometimes is overly dense, but that doesn’t mean he has the IQ of 10. He learns fast, which is shown by the fact that, even though he hadn’t gone to school since 10 years old (he didn’t even graduate elementary), he is somehow making it through high school (of course with LOTS of help from people, mainly Lelouch).

He also has mad skills called UNREQUITED LOVE FROM CATS. He loves cats, cats loves scratching/biting (basically mauling) him. Still, he dedicates half of his free time in trying to touch cats.

P E R S O N A

Suzaku’s personality is a very complex thing. He started out as a brash, self-centered, kinda bratty child, who was actually nice and very teary. A child who hated the stronger beating up the weaker, and stubborn. Who, when grown up, became a polite boy and much more rounded out than when he was a child. He was hard-working, responsible, helpful (somewhat a feminist), and a tad bit airheaded. His personality was everyone’s image of a ‘good person’. But was that his true self? A bit yes, but not completely. His rasher side often appeared while fighting Zero, the terrorist. For Suzaku, rules were absolute and the law was to be followed. His strong sense of justice and hate for the ‘wrong’ was often shown, and his values were in the way of doing things, instead of the result. If it was done in the wrong way, going against the rules, the result meant nothing. The complete opposite of what Zero thought. All his morals and the way he lived was built up from his guilt of his past sin, and it had also caused him to wish for death as well. Suzaku was a rather unstable person at first, and his stubbornness hadn’t changed from before, and without realizing, whenever something happened that went against his moral code, he would forcefully change it to make it fit. A ball of contradictions, he was.

However, with the meeting of Euphemia, he slowly changed for the better, his closed up heart that had made him dwell on the crime and make him guilt-ridden was opened up again, and he was able to move on. Sadly, Euphie’s death had unlocked another part of himself, and had became engulfed in anger and sought for revenge. His hatred of Zero drove him, and showed that he was capable of killing enemies without a thought if they were in the way.

In season 2, a year had passed since Euphie’s death, and his rage had somewhat subsided. He knew now, that power was needed to fulfill his goal, and that sacrifices had to be made to obtain that power. But, the core of him hadn’t changed and he would ask his enemies to surrender their weapons before annihilating them. He was now more mature and serious, especially during work. He would just about never smile during his job. At school, he is just the same as before, the helpful, good student, although this time there weren’t any Britannians who would dare slash up the uniform of the Emperor’s knight. However, when he is alone, his tension would relax somewhat, and a certain weariness can be seen. Often contemplative, his thought would often be centered around Zero and Lelouch. A mix of all the past personalities mold up the Suzaku now.

T H E F A L S E H O O D

The Kururugi Company was a well-known company in the Elysium level, and being the only son, Suzaku was thought to have been the next owner. However, that all changed when the NG ruler, who had been at conflict with the Kururugi Company for a long time, finally ordered the destruction of the company. But that was all on the surface, since the truth was that Suzaku’s father was trying to sell the company over to the NG higher-up. Overhearing this, Suzaku, without thought, stabbed his father, killing the man. But that didn’t stop the ruler from forcing all the people in and related to the company down to the Abyss. Suzaku was traumatized by the result and saddened, having to say goodbye to his only friends, Lelouch and Nunnally vi Britannia, the two banished child of the ruler.

Suzaku did his best to live in the Abyss alone, doing all sorts of job, while thinking of ways to change the system. He knew that this world was not right, but he didn’t want to do things the wrong way, for he knew that it would never end up well. At 14, he made up his mind and joined the NG military, vowing to change the system from the inside. At the same time, he also wished for death as repentance for his sins. After few years of being one of the low rank soldiers, his skills as a pilot and his knack for technology was discovered by a higher up person who had taken a liking to him. This was a chance for Suzaku and was able to climb the status ladder at high speed. Soon, he was able to move from Abyss to the Terra. Around the same time, he was able to be reunited with Lelouch and Nunnally.

His goal became much closer to him when he met Lelouch and Nunnally’s half sibling, another child of the ruler, Euphemia. She also took a liking to him, and appointed him to be her personal bodyguard. Suzaku did his best to protect her, and be accepted by the other soldiers by continuously fighting against and sometimes foiling the rebellion of the terrorist Zero. He soon became known as the “White Knight”, and became a symbol to some in the Abyss that people down there could work their way up. When Euphie had proposed a treaty between the Alpha Omega Research Facility and Zero, Suzaku was ecstatic. This was a huge step towards what he had hoped for. Sadly, due to unknown causes, Euphie suddenly ordered the massacre of all the people from the Abyss. Chaos and death ensued, and Euphie’s rampage was put to end by Zero, who shot her. Suzaku immediately took her to the Asclepius Hospital, but the doctors failed to save her. And just at this superb timing, a little birdie came telling Suzaku that Zero had a mysterious power. Driven by revenge, he chased down Zero, ignoring the rebellion of the people in Abyss occurring all around him. When he finally cornered the terrorist, Suzaku unmasked him and lo and behold, he was Lelouch, his now ex-best friend.

Remorse gone, Suzaku immediately constricted Lelouch and took him to the ruler. Lelouch was wiped of his memories and heritage, and as a reward for capturing the infamous terrorist, Suzaku was promoted. Now, working directly under the top, he is respected by most soldiers and called the “White Grim Reaper”. His latest mission was the surveillance of Lelouch Lamperouge, to make sure that his memories does not resurface. Going to the same University, he continues being Lelouch’s best friend, despite the fact that Suzaku was the one that sold him. At the same time, Suzaku’s original goal of changing the system from the inside hasn’t changed as well, and is also personally trying to figure out what this mysterious power was that made Euphie go berserk.
